Can we answer your query here?
Booking & Logistics
- What time is check-in and check-out?
- Check-in is from midday to 6:00 pm, except Friday when you can arrive up until 8pm. We ask guests to vacate their pitch by 11:00 am on their day of departure.
- Can I arrive after hours?
- If you expect to arrive after these times, please contact the site directly for late arrival procedures.
- What is your cancellation policy?
- Please see your booking confirmation for our cancellation policy.
- Do you accept group bookings?
- We welcome quiet, respectful families and couples. Group bookings of 3 pitches must book through management and not online
- How far is Haw Wood Farm from the Suffolk Coast?
- Haw Wood Farm is just 4 miles from the coast which is a 10 minute drive from seaside spots like Dunwich and Walberswick and 20 minutes from Southwold..
- Are there any good walks or cycle routes nearby?
The site is cycle-friendly and near Route 1 and Route 42. You can easily get to the trails in Dunwich Forest and stay off road between villages. There are some great walks too. We have some useful maps with walking trails on that you can buy from our shop.
On-Site Facilities
- What makes Haw Wood Farm an award-winning campsite?
- Haw Wood Farm is the only AA 5 Gold pennant campsite in Suffolk! This award is not only given for facilities but also customer service.
- Do pitches have electric hook-ups?
- We offer both electric and non-electric pitches. Our Hardstanding pitches are fully serviced. You can choose your prefered pitch type when booking online.
- Is there Wi-Fi on site?
- Free Wi-Fi is available near the reception area, .
- Are there shared kitchen or laundry facilities?
- We provide a communal washing-up area and a token-operated laundry room.
- Can I freeze my ice packs on site?
- Yes, we have a communal freezer in the wash up room specifically for re-freezing guest ice blocks.
- Is the cafe at Haw Wood Farm open to the public?
- Yes! The cafe and playground are open to campers and day visitors. Fish and Chip Fridays are available ( Fridays March–October) See the website for opeing times.
Rules & Etiquette
- Are dogs allowed?
- Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times and cleaned up after.
- What facilities do you have for dogs?
- The site is dog-friendly with an enclosed dog walking meadow where dogs can run around off the lead.
- Can we have a campfire or BBQ?
Raised BBQs and fire pits are permitted, but open fires directly on the grass are strictly prohibited to protect the ground.
We sell logs and have Fire pits for your use. - When are your "quiet hours"?
- To ensure everyone has a restful stay, we request that noise be kept to a minimum between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.
- Can I park my car next to my tent?
Our pitches allow for one vehicle to be parked alongside; additional cars must be left in the designated overflow car park or can be booked in at £5 per night.
Local Information
- Where is the nearest grocery shop?
- There is a small Budgens at the Jet garage 1 mile away, and larger supermarkets are located in the towns nearby. The closest is roughly 4 miles from the site.
- Are there any recommended local pubs or restaurants?
- We have a list of local favourites on our notice board outside the reception, including several pet-friendly options.

How do you support environmentally friendly camping?
- We do what we can to be an eco-friendly campsite. Our facilities are powered by an on-site biomass boiler using locally sourced woodchips. You can fins details on the Nature and our environment section of the website.
