There are many wonderful events in Suffolk that are worth a visit.
Why not use Haw Wood Farm as your base to allow you to spend a full day out and return back to comfortable surroundings.

 

The Ink Festival

INK is the UK’s leading producer of original short plays and unique in that they produce all their own plays. Since their inception in 2014, they have produced and performed over 500 new plays for stage and radio by first time, as well as, by experienced playwrights aged 8 to 80.

The Ink Festival runs for 4 days in April and takes place in numerous venues across Halesworth. Their website will tell you all you need to know and the dates for this year.

The festival is the most wonderful example of what can be acheived with passion, enthusiasm and knowledge of and for the Arts, theatre in particular.

The small market town of Haleswoth becomes a buzzing hive of culture and excitement. Anyone with even the slightest interest in theatre will be blown away by the exceptional performances and content of this superbly organised long weekend. Don't miss it!

Latitude Festival at Henham Park

Latitude Festival

Each year Henham Park (which is 3 miles from Haw Wood Farm) hosts Latitude, a popular Music and Arts festival. Including Comedy, Theatre , Dance, Children's activities and of course some headline acts. Local boy Ed Sheeran often makes an inpromtu appearance!

Day tickets are available if weekend camping at the festival doesn't appeal to you and if you wish to leave the car behind, the local taxi service will bring you to and from Haw Wood Farm.

Folk East

Another annual music festival, Folk East is all about coming together to fill your boots with music, food, ale, family and friends in the glorious parkland of Glemham Hall.

Folk East is held in mid to late August and is a 20 minute drive from Haw Wood Farm.

 

The Aldeburgh festival of Music and Arts

The Aldeburgh Festival has been a pilgrimage for lovers of classical music and culture since 1948. Every June it brings together new commissions, world-premieres and international stars on the stretch of Suffolk Coast which so bewitched its founder, the composer Benjamin Britten.

Aldeburgh Carnival

Aldeburgh Carnival is an annual 3 day event normally mid August and provides something for everybody, from dressing up in whacky costumes, through sports competitions for swimmers and mini-marathon runners to shopping at the Carnival Village stalls and of course, the very special appeal of the children’s Chinese lantern procession on the way to the fireworks.

The festival takes place in September at Snape Maltings.

The Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival exists to promote and support Suffolk-based producers, farmers and products, celebrating the diversity and entrepreneurship of this incredible county. It is a fabulous event, full of masterclasses, demos, talks, eating, drinking, activities, film premieres, and more.

Redhouse Christmas Barn

Redhouse Christmas Barn is just 10 minutes from Haw Wood Farm.
It is a great place to go to get inspired for the festive season and to top up on a few pretty decorations.

Pop along to their Christmas tree farm to browse thousands of Christmas decorations beautifully displayed in the 18th century barn or maybe buy a fresh Christmas tree! – choose your own award-winning fresh cut tree straight from the farm!

The all new purpose-built magical Santa’s Grotto is worth a visit with your young people, and if all that is rather exhausting you can refresh yourself at the Christmas market style stall with a hot chocolate and a festive treat.

This is of course seasonal and is open in the run up to Christmas.
